Ultrapro Tx Hygiene Handpiece is constructed from lightweight, anodized, aircraft-caliber aluminum. The internal resistance motor with soft start prevents splatter, while high torque offers excellent efficiency on tough stains. PROCEDURE

1. Ultra-Etch 15 seconds, rinse.

2. Air dry and apply PrimaDry.

3. Apply UltraSeal XT plus.

4. Light cure with Ultra-Lume LED 5.

UltraSeal XT plus is a light-cured, radiopaque, fluoride-releasing composite sealant. UltraSeal XT plus is stronger and more wear-resistant because it is a 58% filled resin, and has less polymerization shrinkage than competitive products. The spiral brush action of the tip causes shear thinning of the filled, thixotropic UltraSeal XT plus, thus reducing its viscosity as it is placed. Resin firms when shear thinning ceases and placement is complete, preventing resin from running before it can be light cured. UltraSeal XT plus is significantly superior to other sealant materials, and can be used with PrimaDry drying agent to eliminate moisture that can cause failure.

Ultradent Universal Dentin Sealant covers dentin with protective seal. Both surfaces have been conditioned with phosphoric acid 20 seconds; SEM on right was first sealed with Universal Dentin Sealant.

Universal Dentin Sealant is NOT a bonding agent.

Flor-Opal Varnish White is a flavored, xylitol-sweetened, 5% sodium fluoride in a resin carrier. Syringe-to-syringe mixing system ensures an even distribution of fluoride for a consistent application. Flexible FX Flex tip allows a 90º bend for easy placement and provides no-mess, continuous placement.

USES

Produces a mechanical/chemical occlusion of the dentinal tubules in the treatment of tooth hypersensitivity. The AAPD recommends fluoride varnish “for use as a preventative adjunct to reduce enamel demineralization in children identified at risk for early childhood caries.” The use of fluoride varnish for caries prevention has also been endorsed by ADA.

Typical varnishes are yellow as shown on the right central versus the esthetic white Flor-Opal Varnish White as seen on the remaining upper incisors.

Severe decalcification and caries due to poor hygiene during orthodontic treatment. Evidence shows that a significant amount of delcalcification can be prevented by applying fluoride varnish every six weeks

Procedures

Push material from white syringe to clear syringe 5 times back and forth remixing contents. Push varnish into white syringe for delivery. Twist on FX Flex tip tightly and bend tip up to 90º angle if desired. Varnish will not flow freely if tip is bent too far.

Blot dry prior to application. Express a small bead from the tip. Brush a smooth layer onto area being treated. Gently pull the lip over the tooth surface to ensure saliva contact with the varnish. The varnish hardens when it comes in contact with the saliva and will stay in place for several hours to days. Avoid brushing teeth or chewing hard foods for 4-6 hours after treatment.
